Steve's images are a combination of photographs and high resolution scans of subjects, sometimes combined to form life cycles, artistic patterns and groups of related species.  They reflect his broad interest in the natural sciences and an accumulated knowledge and appreciation of nature.  Many of the images are obtained using live insects that are scanned and then released into their natural habitats.  By producing these lovely images, he aspires to show others the incredible beauty that surrounds us daily, the art in nature, with the hopes that this appreciation will lead to a deep respect for our natural world.
